Meet the builders shaping Light Frame’s foundation

My name is Fred Blaise, and I bring over two decades of experience in technology, with the last eight years dedicated to product security. I’ve worked across telecom, private banking, infrastructure, and cybersecurity, leading teams and securing systems at scale. Today, I’m proud to be the first hire and CISO at Light Frame.

My journey started in the U.S., where I moved from my native France to study as a student-athlete. I launched my career at a major telecom provider, then moved to Luxembourg to work in IT for a private bank serving high-net-worth clients. It was there that I managed the full lifecycle, from data center infrastructure to system integration and automation, gaining hands-on experience with core banking and payment systems.

That work brought me to Switzerland to lead a bank’s core banking integration from the ground up.

“This deep foundation in infrastructure engineering was pivotal for my transition into cybersecurity.”

I joined a Swiss security firm, where I became Head of Infrastructure and Operations for Managed Security Services. From there, I moved into product security leadership, most recently overseeing a team of more than 40 professionals responsible for securing hundreds of applications across an engineering division of over 4,000 people.

“The last eight years have been all-in on cybersecurity. But the engineering mindset never left - good security still starts with good architecture.”

In 2024, I reconnected with Philippe Kernevez, with whom I’d worked years earlier. He shared his vision for a modern core banking system, one built from first principles, not layered on legacy. It was ambitious, but grounded.

“The opportunity was solidified after meeting the rest of the founding team: Gregory Bataille, a top-tier engineer; Mathieu Clément, with his impressive dual expertise in engineering and banking; and Schuyler, whose leadership experience speaks for itself. Convinced by the strength of the team and the mission, I was proud to join Light Frame as its first employee.”

Security at Light Frame isn’t a feature. It’s not a gatekeeper step. It’s foundational, from how we design architecture, to how we approach trust and reliability. That’s what drew me in, and it’s what keeps me focused every day.I’m based in Switzerland with my wife and children, and always open to connecting with those rethinking how secure systems should be built.
